VISALIA – Visalia Unified School District board member Larry Jones is facing misdemeanor sex charges, accused of pulling on a woman’s blouse to look at her breasts.

The alleged incident occurred April 18 at an H&R Block tax preparation business in Visalia that Jones, 61, owns and operates, according to court documents.

The victim, 49, is a client and family friend who went to his office to get her taxes done at a discount price, a police report said. While doing her taxes, Jones told her, “Your boobs look big,” the report said.

He told police investigating the woman’s allegations that he did not touch her inappropriately or pull on her blouse, the report said. He was standing and she was sitting when the blouse-pulling incident occurred, the accuser said.

Jones has been ordered to appear for arraignment Sept. 13 on charges of sexual battery and engaging in lewd conduct. If convicted on sexual battery, Jones could face six months in jail and would have to register as a sex offender.
