A suspected Oxnard pimp was arrested on suspicion of crimes including human trafficking this week following a four-month investigation by local and federal authorities, Oxnard police announced today.
Carlos Hernandez, 30, was arrested Thursday afternoon after authorities served a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of South Hayes Street in Oxnard, police said in a prepared statement. The FBI, Los Angeles Police Department, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement worked with the Oxnard Police Department on the investigation.
Police also arrested a 22-year-old Los Angeles woman on suspicion of misdemeanor prostitution and found a loaded handgun and paraphernalia related to prostitution, officials said.
Hernandez was booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of charges that include false imprisonment by violence, human trafficking, pimping, use of false documents and an immigration hold, jail records show. He is not eligible for bail.
The Los Angeles woman also was booked into jail, where she was being held on suspicion of prostitution and an immigration hold.
Authorities on Thursday afternoon also served a search warrant in the 13200 block of Filmore Street in Pacoima as part of the investigation.
At that residence, police found paraphernalia related to prostitution and arrested two Pacoima women.
The women, ages 49 and 21, were booked into Ventura County jail on immigration holds, police said. Both had been released by this afternoon into the custody of immigration officials, jail records show.
