Suspect arrested after Port Hueneme pizzeria robbery attempt

A suspect was arrested Monday after the attempted robbery of a Port Hueneme pizzeria, police said.
The incident was reported at 4:30 p.m. at Pizza Hut, 467 W. Channel Islands Blvd. A man walked into the business, demanded money from an employee, then pushed a computer screen off the counter, left the store and fled on a bicycle, Port Hueneme police said. No one was injured.
Shortly later, police stopped a man who fit the suspect’s description at Hemlock Street and Patterson Road. Armando Estrada, 29, of Oxnard was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, police said. He remained in jail Tuesday in lieu of $50,000 bail, jail records show.
