The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an assault in El Rio that left a man with serious head injuries Tuesday night.
The incident occurred about 10 p.m. in the 700 block of Collins Street, where two men were involved in a physical confrontation during a domestic dispute, said sheriff’s Capt. Dave Murray.
The victim was hit in the head with an unknown object, and the attacker fled the scene, Murray said. The victim was in stable condition at a hospital, Murray said.
No arrests were immediately made. Further details were not available.
