Home Page Potential Lawsuit Smith & Wesson is recalling all Thompson Center Venture Rifles manufactured prior to October 28, 2011 due to a potentially fatal defect. The recall was issued because during an internal technical review, Smith & Wesson identified a condition that may exist with the sear supplied with some rifles that would allow the rifle to fire without the trigger being pulled. Cops Go High-Tech to Stop Poaching

Fish poaching is serious — and illegal — business. Police in Maryland are now armed with new poaching laws and high-tech equipment to battle the problem.

This is good news for fisherman. Last year the state had to shut down the fishing season early. Poachers had taken 13 tons of striped bass.

Fishermen who were legitimately trying to make a living were out of luck. Biologists were called in to analyze the potential damage to the area.

The daily quota for legal fishing is 1,200 pounds of the fish. Poachers often go above this amount.

Police now have access to better technology and equipment to fight poaching. They now have a side-scan sonar to find underwater nets.

FLORENCE, SC — Mitt Romney said yesterday he will release his tax returns, while acknowledging he pays a rate of 15 percent of his income to Uncle Sam, lower than many Americans with only a fraction of his wealth.

Romney, who is worth about $250 million, leads in the polls, but is facing mounting pressure by Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry to cough up his returns.

When criminal defendants are released from prison, some are “bonded out” while others are “bailed out.” If you consume enough criminal news, the two terms start to look interchangeable, as though they both mean the same thing.

As you likely know, bail is the monetary amount a defendant must pay to secure his release. If he fails to appear at a specified time, he forfeits that amount.
